New To Our Church

Worship
Worship is our opportunity to grow closer to God.  We are blessed to have two distinct services with their own style. Our traditional service is held at 8:30 am.  It uses hymns accompanied by organ or piano.  The 11:00 am service is praise and worship service led by Rhythm of Grace, which includes keyboards, guitars and drums.  We are blessed to have a  Bell Choir (Glory Ringers), and members of our Sanctuary Choir who minister at the 8:30 am service.

We value prayer as part of the worship experience. We begin our services with congregational prayer.  During most services we share the needs of the congregation and pray for one another.

We center our preaching in the Bible, God’s word to all people. The sermon is a response to the scripture passage read before the preaching begins. The sermon points are highlighted and emphasized with Power Point. You can watch previous weeks worship services on the video archive page.

We invite you to worship with us.  You are welcome in whatever attire you prefer.

The Sacrament of Communion

Everyone of Christian faith is welcome to share in this celebration of God’s love. You do not have to be a member of our church or any church because Christ invites all with Him at the table.  Communion is usually served on the first Sunday of the month.

Children
There is a nursery available during our  11:00 am services.  Childcare is provided for children infant to 4 years of age in the upper education wing.  A comfort room for infants is located in the back of the sanctuary. There are also changing tables located in the women's and men's rooms in the Narthex.

Junior Church -- on Sunday,  during the 11am service.  After the children's moment with Pastor Keith, children will be dismissed to the education wing.  Children who are preschool age and younger should report to the nursery.  Children who are enrolled in elementary school will be divided into two classes: Kindergarten - 2nd grade and 3rd-5th grades. Junior Church is led by our Children's Ministry Director, Ms. Jennie Smith..

An annual highlight of our church year is Vacation Bible School offered for a week each July.  If you are interested in any of our Children’s Ministry Programs, contact Katie Lowell at klowell@bakertstownumc.org or  724-443-3184

Youth

Our Youth Group is called Ignite and meets weekly through the school year on Sunday nights from 6:00-8:00 pm.  Open to all kids from 6th-12th grade.   Meetings include Bible study, worship, games, and fellowship.  Youth are given an opportunity to explore their faith while developing lasting friendships.   In addition to the regular meetings, other activates are offered such as parties, outdoor activities, mission trips and retreats.

Parking and accessibility

We have plenty of parking in our front lots, side and rear lots. A ramp from the front lot provides entry to the main part of the church. We have accessible restrooms and an elevator to the lower level classrooms and our New Fellowship Hall. There is also handicapped parking near the New Fellowship Hall outside entrance.
