Bakerstown United Methodist Day School

2&3 Year old Classroom

Our purpose, at Bakerstown UMC Day School, is to partner with parents in providing education and nurture for their children that is high quality, distinctive, and developmentally appropriate; in a way that reflects the love of God and respects the educational and social needs of each child.

Our day school has aligned our curriculum with the local school districts for a smooth transition from preschool to Kindergarten.  Our curriculum is specifically designed for pre-K students, that is comprehensive in addressing the child’s developmental needs (self-esteem, cognitive, creative, social, physical) within the context of Christian faith and values.

We still have some spots open for this year.  We are busy giving tours and meeting lots of new faces.  If you would like to find out more about the preschool, please stop by. We are now accepting registrations for the 2020/2021 school year.    For more information  call Kelly Campbell, the day school director at (724) 272-6032.

What Makes Us Unique

Our list of Goals are skills we are working on all year long in our preschool classes.  These goals are pulled right from the Pennsylvania State Standards for Early Childhood Education.  As the Standards are updated, we also update our curriculum. Our curriculum follows the Pennsylvania State Standards for Early Childhood Programs.  We work directly with the local school districts ensuring a smooth transition into Kindergarten.  Our highly qualified teachers send home weekly newsletters outlining their lessons for the week.  Our Children’s Minister shares dynamic, weekly faith based lessons with each class.  Our class sizes are small allowing more individualized attention.  We have a Library/Story Play Room:  Inspired by new story each month, the library is decorated from floor to ceiling to become the story for the children to “play the story”.
